Dairy - Sri Lanka

INTERTEC ENGINEERING DIVISION is a subsupplier to SCANPRO A/S in connection with the construction of a turnkey dairy project in Sri Lanka.

 

INTERTEC ENGINEERING DIVISION has delivered the automation system and the electrical design for both the power system for the plant and for the dairy automation system.

The work included dismantling of existing lights and light installations on 3,300 m long runway, and supply, installation and commissioning of the new light installation and light fixtures. The work was divided into two phases, half of the runway in Phase 1 and the second half of the runway in Phase 2. Delivery of papi and temporary installation of papi for continued operation of the runway activities.

The rehabilitation project is divided into the following five main areas:

                             

AIRFIELD LIGHTING:

New CAT I airfield lighting system on the 3,800 m runway, including a full 900 m Calvert approach at runway end 17 (partly erected on a steel structure jetty on Lake Victoria) and a non-precision approach at runway end 35. Distributed control system for airfield lighting. New floodlight installations for apron areas consisting of octagonal steel masts equipped with ladder, tower platform.

                             

SWITCHGEAR, GENERATORS, TRANSFORMERS:

Installation of an 11 kV distribution system to replace the existing HV Switchgear. Installation of a 250 kVA UPS generator set as a primary electrical standby power source. rehabilitation of existing 560 kVA standby generator sets.

                             

NAVAIDS EQUIPMENT:

Instrument landing system including approach distance measurement equipment (DME).

Doppler VNH omnidirectional radio range equipment (DVOR) en route DME transponder.

Combined ILS localiser and en route non-directional radio beacon (NDB), including radio link for remote control of the station.

INTERTEC was sub-contracted by Colas, a civil works company, to supply and install all airfield lighting, including runway and taxiway lighting, as well as installation of new airfield signs in accordance

with current ICAO standards.

The contract further included an apron floodlight system erected on 28 m steel structures.

                             

INTERTEC supplied a new control system for all airfield

lighting equipment. This control system integrates all existing lighting as well as new runway and taxiway lighting within one unified environment.

The parallel taxiway, apron extension, perimeter road and fence project at Aruba airport comprised supply, installation and commissioning of the following:

                             

APRON FLOODLIGHTING

A complete, tower-controlled apron floodlighting system was installed at the apron extension.

                                 

AIR FIELD LIGHTING

Elevated and semi-flush, inset taxiway edge lights for the parallel taxiway, cross-over taxiway, holding apron and apron extension. Semi-flush, inset runway edge lights.

                             

TAXIWAY GUIDANCE SIGNS      

Guidance signs along the new parallel taxiway, cross-over taxiway, intersections, holding apron and apron extension.

                             

CONTROL SYSTEM        

Remote control and monitoring system for airfield lighting.

Ghana

GHANA CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY (GCAA)

Main contract

The joint-venture consortium consisting of Skanska Africa Limited, PW Ltd. Ghana and INTERTEC Contracting A/S was awarded the contract for

the implementation of the second phase of the airport improvement programme. This involved renovation and expansion of the terminal building, platforms for passenger and cargo traffic, renovation and

extension of runway as well as replacement and refurbishment of air traffic control (ATC) services.

                             

INTERTEC AIRPORT DIVISION was responsible for design, integration andcommissioning of the complete ATC package. This comprised a new, combined approach and area control center, replacement of radar and radio communication systems at Kotoka as well as radio connections to the remote transmitter and receiver sites at Labadi and Tamale, the latter in order to provide radar and radio coverage of the northern parts of Ghana.

                             

Replacement of the existing navigation equipment, instrument landing system (ILS) and meteorological system were also parts of the ATC scope of works. Likewise, INTERTEC undertook the refurbishment of all airside electrical installations in connection with the construction of a 150 m stop way at runway 03 and a 400 m runway extension at runway 21.

                             

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL:

Replacement of the existing primary radar by a solid-state, primary radar at Kotoka. Replacement of the existing secondary radar by a solid-state, monopulse secondary surveillance radar (MSSR) at Kotoka.

Installation of a solid-state, monopulse secondary surveillance radar (MSSR) at Tamale. Integration into the airport environment of a new fully equipped and combined approach and area control center.

Installation of emergency diesel generators for the radars at Kotoka and Tamale.

Replacement of VHF and HF radio communication systems, including radio connections to the remote transmitter and receiver sites at Labadi and Tamale.

Installation of a voice communication control system (VCCS), including an integrated radar data/voice recording and replay system.

                             

INSTRUMENT LANDING SYSTEM/NAVIGATION SYSTEM:

Replacement of the existing instrument landing system (ILS) by a new CAT II localiser (LLZ), glide path (GP) and distance measurement equipment (DME).

Installation of non-directional beacons (NDB).

Supply and installation of field shelters for Navaids equipment.                           

                             

METEOROLOGICAL SYSTEM:

Installation of an automated weather observation system (AWOS) for CAT II operations consisting of runway visual range (RVR), transmission meters, ceilometers, wind speed and direction sensors, humidity, pressure and temperature sensors, etc.                           

                                             

AIRFIELD LIGHTING:

Complete re-cabling of the non-precision approach at runway 03 and construction of a new CAT II precision approach at the extended runway 21.

Installation of elevated and inset lights for runway.

Installation of a uni-directional, sequential flash light system for runway.

INTERTEC ENGINEERING DIVISION has delivered a large part of the automation systems for the production lines of new starch production facility.

 

The facility is focused on the production of highly demanded products in the Russian domestic market, such as maltodextrins, dry glucose syrups, native starch, starch syrup and feed products (corn gluten, germ, gluten feed).

Krill trawler

INTERTEC ENGINEERING DIVISION has delivered the automation system and the electrical design for a highly advanced krill factory trawler. 

 

The process automation and control system were made for production of protein powder and fish oil from krill. 

 

INTERTEC ENGINEERING DIVISION delivered the automation system  for the krill production on board the vessel. INTERTEC ENGINEERING DIVISION furthermore supported the vessel with on board support for many years during different changes and modifications.
